I have a the data from hundreds of fMRI patients. All of the files have the same ending (...abc.nii.gz for example). I need to make a .txt file that contains the pathways to every one of these files, but I don't want to copy hundreds of pathways by hand. Is there a way to search for each of these files ending in ...abc.nii.gz and copy their pathways into a new txt file in linux?

Answer #1

The command given below searches in the user/local directory for files that are ending with the extension ...abc.nii.gz and the whole path is get printed on the screen for all files ending with this extension the command is

find /user/local -name "*...ac.nii.gz" -typef

for copying their pathways into anew file we do

$ mkdir dir1    //creating a new directory

$touch dir1/fmri.txt //creating new txt file to store pathways

for f in *...abc.nii.gz

do

$cp f dir1

done

using this linux commands pathways of file having extension ...abc.nii.gz is copied in a new linefmri.txt which is in directory dir1

    I want to store encrypted files on some storage backend that allows me to fetch bytes X through Y of the encrypted file. I can obviously decrypt the entire file locally and send it back to the client. However, if the file is very large it would be nice to be able to arbitrarily decrypt that byte range on the fly. If possible, I'd like to be able to decrypt the parts by different servers at the same time (so...
