Answer #1

Given

m = 9.11 * 10-31 kg

x = 1.20 cm = 0.012 m

v = 2.3 * 106 m/s

(a) Acceleration

v² = u² + 2ax

( 2.3 * 106 )2 = 0 + 2*a*0.012

a = 2.2 * 1014 m/s2

(b) time to reach grid

t = v / a

t = ( 2.3 * 106 ) / 2.2 * 1014

t = 1.05 *10-8 s

(c) Net force

Fnet = m*a = 9.11 * 10-31 * 2.2 * 1014

Fnet = 2.0 * 10-16 N
