Answer #1

According to a standard normal table, the area under the standard normal curve to the left of 0.39 is 0.6517.

\therefore Given, P(Z < 0.39) = 0.6517

To determine the area under the standard normal curve to the left of -0.39 i.e to find P(Z < -0.39)

P(Z < -0.39) = 1 - P(Z > -0.39)

                     = 1 - P(Z < 0.39) .............(\because P(Z < a) = P(Z > -a) )

                     = 1 - 0.6517

                     = 0.3483

\therefore The area to the left of z = -0.39 is 0.3483
