What do you think about the future of the neoliberal policies after covid 19 ?
Neoliberal policies have always been inclined towards the
interest of profit and interest of the private sector of businesses
but with the ongoing pandemic, policies have been seriously
discussed, both political and economic and it has brought us at a
crossroads where the impact has already signaled towards the fall
of neoliberalism. Governments have already started intervening more
in the public sector, proving yet again the relevance of public
sector activities and its necessity for our survival as a race.
What this incident has shown us is the lack of solidarity shown on
a global scale, between the different countries and how, in such
times, the only way businesses, society and the economies can
prevail is through working together. It also shows that things
could be done differently and that healthcare should be a priority
for a country, just as much as its private sector business
industries. It is therefore bright for us at the horizon which
shows the significance of the presence of other alternatives beyond
neoliberalism and we, therefore, a solid probability exists that we
would need to create systems that create this solidarity beyond
just crisis prevention and mitigation.
