The H- NMR spectrum of [Co (di NO Sar) Cl_3 uses to investigate the structure of the complex The H-NMR spectrum has shown two overlapping quarters that result from the presence of an AB and AA' BB' spin systems The AB quarters is consist of the two sets of peaks centered of 4 and 3.5 ppm This pattern arises from the coupling between the protons nearest the NO_2 groups the pattern appears as a quartet due to the presence of some second order spectra arising from the distance between the doublets being quite small The other quartet containing the peaks centered at 3.1 ppm and 3.7 ppm constitute and AA' BB: spin system This splitting a pattern is also due to the presence of some second order spectra resulting from the overlapping some of the peaks This AA' BB' system is due to two magnetically non-equivalent protons attached to the same carbon atoms in the ethylene di amine straps coupling to each other
