Calculate the fraction of association for sodium butanoate. (i.e., [Butanoic Acid]/[Sodium Butanoate])

a) [Sodium Butanoate]=0.50M.

fraction of association, Alpha=[Butanoic Acid]/0.50M,

{we know [HA]=[OH-] from reaction stoichiometry (A-+H2O« HA+OH-) }

therefore alpha=[OH-]/0.50M

You can use your pH value to get [OH-] and then find fraction of association.
