Perform the six steps of hypothesis testing on this set of data (a.05), presenting your final calculations in a source table. Be sure to check for heteroscedasticity, run post hoc tests, and calculate an effect size Table: Baseball Salaries and Positions Pitcher 0.480 18.250 10.333 0.750 4.275 Catcher 0.615 3.700 0.815 1.000 1.625 Outfielder 1.150 13.571 0.500 10.250 6.958 Shortsto 0.481 8.250 0.487 4.550 0.519

Answer #1

Step 1: From the given scenario, the null and alternate hypotheses can be stated as follows Null hvpothesis: The salary is same for all position plavers Altemate hypothesis: The salary is not same for all position players Step 2: level of significance a 0.05 Step 3: critical value F005.316-3.2389 Step 4 Decision rule If the test statistic is greater than the critical value, then reject the null hypothesis. Otherwise fail to reject the null hypothesis * If the P-value of the test is less than the level of significance, then reject the null hypothesis. Otherwise fail to reject the nul1 hypothesis STEP 5: Calculate analysis of variance for the given data by using Excel as follows Instructions Import data into Excel work sheet » Goto AddIns- Megastat ->Analysis of variance-One factor ANOVA . Choose data from woik sheet and click OK.

Therefor, there is no need of post hoc tests.
