Questions like these are tough sometimes unless worded perfectly but for the sake of this question, whenever a body gets closer to the surface of the Earth, the acceleration due to gravity increases. On the Earth's surface, the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s...if you were on top of mount Everest, it would be a little less! :o) I would say your answer is correct! :o)
