Chapter 5, Section 5.4, Question 018 Water is pumped out of a holding tank at a...
Question 3: Water is to be pumped from one large, open tank to a second large, open tank. The water surface of the first tank is 5 ft lower than the water surface of the second tank. The pipe diameter throughout is 4in. The total length of pipe is 300ft. The friction coefficient is 0.02. The pump with the performance curve given in the figure is suggested by the engineer. With this pump, what would be the flow rate between...
2. (10 points) An aquarium has a 1000 L tank containing 400 L of salt water with a concentra- tion of 210 grams per liter. A salt water solution with a concentration of 470 grams per liter is pumped into the tank at a rate of 5 liters per minute. The well-mixed solution is drained from the tank at a rate of 3 liters per minute. Additionally, the tank is uncovered, so fresh water evaporates from the tank at a...
Chapter 6, Section 6.3, Question 05c A tank contains 280 gallons of water and 30 oz of salt, Water containing a salt concentration of 201+ sint) et/gal flows into the tank at a rate of 7 gamin, and the mixture in the tank news out at the sam rate The long-time behavior the solution is an oscillation about a certain constant bevel. What is this level? What is the ampitude of the oscitation Round the values to two decimal places....
Chapter 2, Section 2.3, Additional Question 02 A tank originally contains 100 gal of fresh water. Then water containinglb of salt per gallon is poured into the tank at a rate of 2 gal/min, and the mixture is allowed to leave at the same rate. After 10 min the process is stopped, and fresh water is poured into the tank at a rate of 10 gal/min, with the mixture again leaving at the same rate. Find the amount of salt...

Then water containing = lb of salt per gallon is poured into the tank at a rate of 2 gal/min, and the mixture is allowed to leave at the same rate. After 10 min the process is stopped, and fresh water is poured into the tank at a rate of 10 gal/min, with the mixture again leaving at the same rate. Find the amount...
Chapter 2, Section 2.3, Additional Question 02 A tank originally contains 10 lb of salt per gallon is poured into the tank at a rate of 2 gal/min, and the mixture is allowed to gal of fresh water. Then water containing leave at the same rate. After 10 min the process is stopped, and fresh water is poured into the tank at a rate of 9 gal/min, with the mixture again leaving at the same rate. Find the amount of...
For the preparation and standardization of NaOH with KHP im supposed to boil water for 1hr and 30 min to remove CO2....the problem is that if I don't boil it for that long and (30 min) b/c of not enough time but I put the water I boiled for 1/2 hr aproximately into a NaOH bottle with a CO2 absorber and stored it there for a few days. I would assume that I would have to boil the water again...but...
10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
