Steam at 140 bar has an ethalpy of 3001.9 Kj/kg. Find the temperature, the specific volume and internal energy.
first, it is necessary to decide whether the steam is wet ,dry or superheated at given conditions that are perssure=140 bar and enthalpy= 3001.9 kj/kg according to steam table.
from steam table whose pics i have enclosed in my answer, clearly shows at 140 bar pressure , steam is not at saturated level as at this pressure saturated vapour enthalpy is 2638kj/kg which is less than given enthalpy that is 3001.9kj/kg.
therfore it is at superheated state so from steam table, clearly at 140 bar pressure having enthalpy 3001.9(approximately equals to 3002), steam is at - temperature 400 degree celsius
- having specific volume,v,= 0.0172 m3/kg
- having internal energy,u,= 2761 kj/kg
