The wingspan of a glider is to be altered by doubling the size, thereby doubling the lift in order to increase the maximum number of passengers. It is argued that this will cause the flight to be unaffected because the drag, and weight are each doubled as well. Why is this arguement incorrect? Note: Neglect the fuselage.
let us see the problem in detail
Wingspan of glider is altered by doubling the size.
looking at various experimental data it can be deduced that on increasing the wing area drag and lift both are increased in a proportional way(doubled in this case). and ratio of drag to lift is equal to ratio of thrust to weight hence both thrust and weight are doubled.
the problem with the argument is that it says flight is unaffected. As by increasing the weight means total payload carrying capacity is increased. hence the objective to increase the maximum number of passengers is increased by increasing the weight to be carried by lift force.

10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...

Hi there! I need to compare two essay into 1 essay, and make it interesting and choose couple topics which im going to talk about in my essay FIRST ESSAY “Teaching New Worlds/New Words” bell hooks Like desire, language disrupts, refuses to be contained within boundaries. It speaks itself against our will, in words and thoughts that intrude, even violate the most private spaces of mind and body. It was in my first year of college that I read Adrienne...
