The major significant Muscle attachments on the humerus are Biceps brachi , Coracobrachialis and Brachialis .

These are the significant muscle attachments present on humerus. Other muscle attachments include Deltoid,pectoralis major, teresmajor ,latissimus dorai ,intraspinatus ,teres minor ,triceps brachi etc.

Explaination to significant Muscle attachments on humerus :

Biceps brachi : it is simply called as biceps is a skeletal muscle .It helps to stabilize and flex the shoulder joint and at elbow joint it helps in flexion and supination. Simply it aids in movement of .Elbow and shoulder joint.

This muscle lies on the anterior aspect of the upper arm .Proximal end is divided into two heads i.e short head rise from coracoid process of the scapula and passes in front of shoulder joint to arm. And the long head from glenoid cavity pass through the joint cavity and the bicipital groove of humerus to arm. The long head is retained in bicitipal groove by transverse humoral ligament.

it innervates musculocutaneous nerve (C5,C6)

CORACOBRACHIALIS : It lies on upper medial aspect of arm and arises from coracoid process of scapula. It is inserted into middle third of humerus.

Its helps flexes the shoulder joint.

stabilization of humeral head within the shoulder joint. it helps in inward rotation of humerus.

it innervates musculocutaneous nerve (C5,C6,C7)

BRACHIALIS :it is main flexor of the elbow joint.

it is deep to biceps and originates from shaft of humerus.and it is inserted into ulna ,distal to the joint capsule.

it originates from anterior aspects of humerus and innervates musculocutaneous nerve C5,C6 .
