8. Why is EQ important?
1- a- Independent thinking- It is the capability to come up with solutions through analytical attribute, confidence, observation and experience.
A habit of reading and expressing thoughts and opinions to a person with a contradictory belief/ opinion with justification may help to enhance independent thinking. Being distinguished and not following the herd mentality is a prerequisite. A person must be willing to take risks and love to travel as well as it expands the horizons.
b- Open mindedness/ Pike syndrome- Pike syndrome is related to the hypothetical obstacles a person sees unnecessarily which become the reasons for the ceasing of progress. The fear of unknown restricts the person from achieving what he is capable of. Curiosity, inclination of learning novel things and endeavours that go beyond patterned and random entities are the things to be focused.
c- Systems thinking- It is an acumen in the context of complexity and turmoil related to decision making. It enables to see things as not fragmented but as a whole. Inter-connectedness, synthesis, emergence, feedback and relationship with reference to the concerned entities is to be emphasised.
d- Personal mastery- The realisation and introspection of the self backed by actions for steady development is called as personal mastery. The journey of the human beings is the journey inwards. Vision, goals, objectives,commitment, self awareness, self management and time management are to be improved and practised in order to accelerate the process of self mastery.
