A 600 N box is sliding down a ramp. I am in front of the ramp pushing uphill, so that the box slides with a constant velocity. The top of the ramp is 1.5 m above the bottom of the ramp and the ramp is 5.0 m long. As the box slides down, friction does work and 500 J are added to the thermal energy of the ramp and box.

a. Calculate the work done by one external force in this situation.

b. Calculate the magnitude of the friction force on the box.
