is 4p1 a possible electron configuration for hydrogen? explain
SInce the atomic number of H atom is 1
The value of the first energy level in which this electron can be accomodated will be n = 1
for n = 1 the only possible value of l is zero.
This corresponds to the s orbital.
So 4p1 electron configuration is not at all possible for the hydrogen atom.

1. An excited state electron configuration of He is given by 2p'3d (a) Determine all the possible term symbols of this electron configurations. b) Now consider the following box notation (one way to arrange 2p 3d1). p-orbital d-orbital m,-+1 0 .1 m,: +2 +1 0-1 -2 (b-1) Write all the possible (valid) wavefunctions that match with the electron configuration in the above box notation. No need to determine the normalization constant. (b-2) Find all the possible term symbols in (a)...
Does Bohr's theory of the hydrogen atom predict that it is possible for the electron in a hydrogen atom to orbit the nucleus with any possible radius? Yes, there are an infinite number of possible orbits, so that every radius is possible. O No, while there are an infinite number of possible orbits of different radii, the radii have only distinct values, not continuous values. O No, there are only a finite number of possible orbits of different radii. +-/1...
