PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING1 Imagine a new theme park is opening just a few kilometres away from your campus. It will feature lots of rides and roller coasters, as well as a water park. There will be lots of food options, from fast food to fine dining, and something for everyone in the family. There are two other theme parks within a 200 km radius of your college, but this new park will be significantly closer than the competition. The developers of the park have been so impressed with your college that they have students to develop proposals. You have been charged with developing the promotional mix for the new park. You will draft your proposal to the company, and then the company executives will select the one they think is most appropriate. SUBMIT:  Typed 1-2 page paper

The promotional mix for the new facility should take into account, the nature of customers it will have. Majority of customers of this theme park would be families with young children, college students and young couples willing to spend quality time there. Keeping in mind, the nature of customers. the company should keep most of its advertisement web based, with mailers, social media marketing and viral marketing through web based platforms, which would attract the youngsters, college goers and young working professionals with small children. The other means of marketing should be print, radio  and TV based promotions to reach those who are not much active on web, and just to remind them of the presence of a new entertainment option.

Besides this, the park can also try to win bulk business through kinsdergarten / nursery schools, universities, large housing societies and corporate offices by direct selling and offering them customised deals on discounted prices for group visitors. It can also offer loyalty programs for recurrent visits, ranging from free rides, discount on food and beverages and privilege passes for events like New year, carnivals and Christmas celebrations. For attracting universoty students and children from large schools, installation of a billboard would also be useful.
