Answer #1

One example of a compound containing hydride ion or H-1 i.e. is lithium hydride or LiH.

It can be synthesised directly treating lithium meta and with hydrogen gas at a rapid temp. above 6000c temperature.

The reaction is

2Li+H2 2LiH above 6000c

Then

LiAlH4 can be prepared from the reaction between lithium hydride (LiH) and aluminium chloride AlCl3 .

4 LiH + AlCl3 → LiAlH4 + 3 LiCl

There is another method of preparation of lithium aluminium hydride is from sodium aluminium hydride which is also a hydride compound.

First prepare Sodium aluminium hydride from sodium, aluminium and hydrogen.

Na + Al + 2 H2 → NaAlH4

LiAlH4 is then prepared by a salt metathesis reaction i.e.sodium aluminium hydride and lithium chloride

NaAlH4 + LiCl → LiAlH4 + NaCl
