Describe how the biological model accounts for abnormal behavior.
Biological model suggests that abnormal behaviors are the result of chemical imbalance in the brain. This would mean that any defect in any part of the body would directly influence one’s behaviors as one derives the commands to be executed by the body parts from the brain. Some of the causes for this malfunctioning of the physical body and the brain could be attributed to infection, malnutrition, poisoning etc. People who experience great level of stress, loss and abuse would also go through many chemical changes which would limit people from functioning normally. So, rectifying the physical ailments and neural networks would help one overcome all the issues. There are many new technologies that aid in scanning the brains and its functions help the medical world and the psychological world has come as a boon in studying the abnormalities which is also opposite to the Freudian psychoanalytical view of abnormality.

How would you classify abnormal behavior? In other words, what do you think constitutes abnormal behavior? Of the five approaches, which one do you think offers the most complete explanation for abnormal behavior?
Please consider the different ways in which abnormal behavior can be defined, ways people in earlier times explained mental illness and ways that abnormality is viewed in other kinds of cultures. Discuss these aspects of defining abnormal behavior and mental illness and conclude your discussion by telling us how you define abnormal behavior from a scientific viewpoint and why you define it in that way. (Chapter 15)
Write a 250 words reflections on classification and assessment of abnormal behavior .
Describe how the General Price Level Adjusted (GPLA) model accounts for changes in the general purchasing power of the reporting currency over time. What are its strengths and weaknesses of this model?
What is the role of cultural context in the determination of abnormal behavior? Provide two examples of behaviors that, depending on cultural context, could be considered either normal or abnormal.
How does the legacy of mind–body dualism affect the biological interpretation of mental disorder? Researchers can be too quick to identify chemical imbalances as the cause of abnormal behavior. Assessments of the effectiveness of drugs are often overdetermined by subjective reports. Mental health practitioners can fail to separate emotional conditions from physical diseases. The normal operation of the brain can be misinterpreted as disturbed via diagnostic scans.
Topic -Describe your attitude toward the behavior you want to change or the new behavior you would like to continue. Include a discussion of the beliefs that make up the attitude and the subjective norms (what you think other people believe you should do) in the behavioral intention model. Paragraph 1 will explore the week’s topic(s) and link it to how it influences your behavior. Paragraph 2 will describe changes in your behavior this week, and how the behavior is...

describe how enzymes act as biological catalysts that occurs at the active site. Discuss catalysis and competitive inhibition. how do each use the active site of the protein? what is an active site and why is it so inportant to biological catalysis.
Part E- LO5, List and Describe Several Biological Influences on Body Weight Biological influences on body weight include genetics (such as the FTO-associated gene), metabolic factors (such as low levels of thyroid hormone), and physiologic factors (such as abnormal levels of vanious appetite-regulating hormones) From the list below, choose all the correct statements about biological influences on body weight. Select all that apply. Obesity is associated with lower amounts of UCP1 The set-point theory suggests that the body responds to...
