1. Develop alternative designs: During this step solutions are designed to improve the parameters. 2. Quantitative evaluation of result: This activity includes validation and quantification of potential benefits realized by the improvement. Before the improvement is implemented in large scale, it is tested by controlled implementation in small scale. The outcomes are then measured for impact and benefits are calculated. Accordingly, based on the actual results of the pilot, the solutions are modified and tuned for large scale implementation. Typical tasks involved are as follows:
