Can I use a one-way ANOVA if my Independent variable has 4 levels?
Yes.One way ANOVA can be used if the fixed factor in consideration has multiple levels. But in case of concommitant variables along with fixed factors with multiple levels,Analysis of Covariance or ANOCOVA can be implemented.
Both the χ2 and the 1-way ANOVA allow one to study the effects of more than 2 levels of an independent variable on a dependent variable. Explain why we need the χ2 when we already have the ANOVA to handle more than one level of the independent variable. What does the χ2 allow us to do that the ANOVA does not?
Which of the statements about one-way ANOVA is FALSE?The purpose of one way ANOVA is to verify whether the data collected from different sources converge on a common mean.ANOVA deals only with one factor, such as treatment or group. It is used when there are two independent variables in the experiment. There can be any number of levels in one-way ANOVA.
I am doing a two way- ANOVA test with sex and age group as the independent variables and total cholesterol as the dependent variable. Please right the three Null and Alternative hypotheses for Age, Sex, and Total Cholesterol Levels
What would the levels of the independent variables be for a two-way ANOVA investigating the effect of four different treatments for depression and gender? Question 12 options: a) 4 and 1 b) 2 c) 4 and 2 d) 6

To find out the differences in design, what tool would you use within SPSS? f. When is Tukey appropriate to use? g. What is used for a small number of comparisons? h. What does the ANOVA table exhibit? i. What are linear trends? j. Overall, why is ANOVA needed?
one-way ANOVA model with r = 4 levels, n1 = 3, n2 = n3 = n4 = 2. What is the design matrix X for the factor-effects formulation of the model?
Suppose that I perform a one-way ANOVA to examine whether students in Finland, China, and Canada differ in their average scores on an achievement test. I use random samples of 2000 students from each country and find that the F value in my ANOVA is statistically significant. What can I conclude from this? What do I know?
4. Consider the balanced one-way ANOVA model with I treatment groups, and J observations for each group iid where the idiosyncratic errors are ε ~N(0,02). (a) Show that SSW/o xi- (b) Show that SSB/o2 -1. (c) Show that SSW and SSB are independent. (d) What is the null distribution of SSW (11-1 4. Consider the balanced one-way ANOVA model with I treatment groups, and J observations for each group iid where the idiosyncratic errors are ε ~N(0,02). (a) Show that...
Consider a one-way ANOVA setup with three levels of an experimental factor, and with sample size n 15. Use R to obtain a randomization of treatments to experimental units, in such a way that someone else could duplicate your particular random assignment. Include your R code and output in your answer
What is the major difference between a one-way ANOVA and a two-way ANOVA? 1)A two-way ANOVA has more power 2)A two-way ANOVA uses the same participants across conditions 3) A two-way ANOVA does not look at the interaction effects 4)None of the options
