Choose any company with a publicly available quarterly or annual report. Review the financial statements contained within and present your understanding of what those statements say about the company. Who are the primary consumers of these kinds of reports?

To answer this question, you may choose any company. I have Chosen "Franklin Resources Inc" Q1 report ended on 31-Dec-19. I will attach the report so that you can understand it properly.

1. If we see the Financial Results section, its operating Margin is 27.8% which is up by 80 bps as compared to prior quarter (30-Sep-19), which is a positive sign for the company.

2. Although, there was decrease in revenue by 3% as compared to prior quarter, its expenses remained almost same.

3. In AUM section, there was an increase of 1% in ending AUM, whcih is a positive sign.

Given the current market scenario, I would say that company is better placed in the industry and may be considered as good investment opportunity.
