identify two of the most effective and two of the most ineffective educational initiatives which have been implemented in the last 15 years, please provide support for each initiative.
Educational opportunities has always been in progress for all. However, in recent years various educational initiatives have been taken out of which many were effective while some failed to put a great impact on the society in terms of education. Two of the most effective educational initiatives which have been implemented in the last 15 years include providing a teacher for every child who is performing below grade levels. This effective tutoring model along with national service programs, fellowships, volunteers, and high quality virtual tutoring has helped since then a lot of students in grading up their levels. Another effective method includes ensuring opportunities to provide college preparatory academics along with technical training and workplace experience. It prepares the students for the for the jobs of the complex, dynamic, and rapidly globalizing future and providing them the access to the opportunities to learn how their academic knowledge applies to their potential career paths.
Apart from the effective educational initiatives, two of the initiatives which failed to put an impact on the society in terms of education include the $1 Billion Gates Foundation-backed education initiative which failed to help students. The program devised a series of metrics to help evaluate , improve, and retain quality teachers - effectively reshaping how teachers are incentivized in the hope that this would pay off students. However, the schools that participated in the program were not able to hire effective teachers and did not show any real improvement in test results and graduation rates. Another inefficient initiative include the conventional school reforms which target the wrong level of improvement. The school reform movement has failed to produce results overall, and reputable evaluations have shown that individual reform measures also have proved to be ineffective.
