The concept of legal object in contract law exists when the contract is not illegal. It must be lawful and definite. If the object of the contract is illegal, then the contact will tends to be void.

Illegal object in insurance refers to the direct violation of the insurance policies. It represents the facts that are punishable by the law.

Eg- a contract will be void of it is related to stolen property. Or insurance of stolen property give rise to an illegal object in insurance.
