Functional tasks are proved to be more effective and meaningful as compared to physical performance. I agree to this statement because functional tasks are those tasks which allow an individual to fulfill the demands of the environment and daily routine life and such kind of activities also support the social, physical and psychological well being of an individual. Occupational therapy is a form of therapy which helps the people having sensory, physical and cognitive problems; it helps them in regaining control over their lives. Functional tasks are very helps in helping people with various problems. A research conducted with the patients of dementia and daily functional task and cognitive training found improvement in the patients (Lawla, Vincent & Matthew 2019). Another research conducted to test the feasibility of functional tasks and it was found that it is feasible for improving the cognitive functions and able to make the people identify their weakness and strengths (Barnett et al. 2014). Hence, there is no doubt in saying that functional tasks are important.
