To calculate the flow rate, the formula to be used is :

[The amount of fluid to be administered (ml) ÷ time required (minutes)] ×drop factor (gttper minute) = flow rate (gtt per minute or drop per minute)

In the above mentioned question, the amount to be infused is 50ml

The time is 30 minutes

Drop factor is 15gtt per minute

Flow rate = (50 /30) × 15 = 25 drops per minute
