Answer #1

Dear Student,

Ethics are simply principles that describe what is expected from an action or behaviour in terms of right and wrong. Ethical principle guide individuals to perform their duties in a righteous manner and prevents them from exploitation or misuse of their authority and power.

Two very important ethical principles are:

  • Justice: Whenever performing any duty, one must be just and unbiased. He/she must not discriminate based on gender, socio-economic status, race , ethinicity, etc. It is expected of everyone to provide justice to their duties. Example: A doctor or a nurse should make sure that every patient is being taken care of irrespective of all the factors mentioned perviously.
  • Nonmaleficance : It is the duty of an individual not to cause harm intentionally. Any person in authority must not harm anybody unless the circumstances demand so. Example: A doctor must not put any patient in undue risk or harm. The result of any practice must not result in anything that do not benifit the society.

Thank you!

Please leave a thumbs up.
