The chemical 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene is better known by its initials, TNT. It is an important explosive, since it can very quickly change from a solid into hot expanding gases. Two moles of solid TNT almost instantly changes to 15 moles of hot gases. If two moles of TNT can change into 15 moles of hot gases, how many liters of hot gases would be created?

From the mole concept point of view,

1 Mole of any gas = 22.4 litres of volume it occupies,

So if 2 moles of TNT produces 15 moles of hot gases then,

Volume Occupied by hot gases= 15 * 22.4 L

= 336 L of hot gases are produced (per 2 moles of TNT)
