Using two computers networked together, do the following to practice sharing and securing folders using Windows:

1. Create a user account named User1 on Computer 1. In the My Documents folder for that account, create a folder named Folder1. Create a text file named File1 in the folder. Edit the file and add the text Golden Egg.

2. On Computer 2, create a user account named User2. Try to read the Golden Egg text in File1 on Computer 1. What is the result?

3. Configure the computers so that User1 signed in to Computer 2 can open File1 and edit the text “Golden Egg,” but User2 cannot view or access the contents of Folder1. List the steps you took to share and secure the folder and to test this scenario to make sure it works. Screenshot both parts of this step.

4. Now make the folder private so that it cannot be seen from Computer 2 in File Explorer or Windows Explorer but can be accessed if User1 knows the folder name. Describe how you did that.

• Step 1- Find out My Documents.
• Step 2- Select My Documents.
• Step 3- Open My Documents and then right click to make a New Folder.
• Step 4- Name the folder as Folder1 and make a new file in the folder.
• Step 5- Edit the File1 and add the text Golden Egg.
• Step 6- Right click on Folder1 and select Share with and then further select Specific people.
• Step 7- Choose Create a new user and name it as User2 and share the folder on computer 2 and only User1 can access the folder if it is aware of the folder name and User2 cannot access the private text written in file1.
• Step 8- This will share a folder on your Computer2.
