A ball has a mass of 5 kg. It falls down 2 meters (h= 2) and hits a spring (that has no mass) with a constant of k= 300 N/m.

The height where the ball lands on top of the spring is at y=0, and the spring is at rest. We only want to know the ball's motion when it comes into contact with the spring.

1. What is the kinetic energy of the ball at height, y=0. Please draw a FBD (free body diagram) for the ball.

2. At what height (y- value) is the velocity of the ball 0? At what height is the acceleration 0?

3. At what height is their a max net force upon the ball?
