There is a local nursery that grows trees from seedlings. One group ( group A ) of 100 trees has an average height of 5ft with a standard deviation of 0.5ft. Another group (group B) of 100 trees has an average height of 25ft with a standard deviation of 0.5ft. In looking at the trees, the nursery owner indicates that the trees that are 25ft tall seem to be closer to the same height than the 5ft trees. How can this be the case since the standard deviation for both groups are the same?
