Observational studies are studies where researchers observe the affect of a risk factor, treatment without trying to change who is or is not exposed to it. We measure or survey members of the sample without trying to affect them

Experimental studies are the studies where researchers introduce an intervention and study the effects. Experimental studies are randomized, meaning the sample subjects are grouped by chance.

ANOVA is a statistical technique which checks if the means of two or more groups are significantly different from each other. By comparing the means of different samples it checks the effect of one or more factors.
