what kind of filtiratio( gravity or vacuum) should be performed when one wants to further work with the solution, evantually obtaining a pure product, why?
I assume you have already did extraction procedure perfectly and removed all the impurities, now you would like to remove traces of solvent from mixture, if that is the case i recommend you to go ahead with vacuum filtration since it will remove any traces of solvent from it and to fine tune the outcome product with insane results. You stated as " further work with the solution, eventually obtaining a pure product ", and you are finally going to evaporate this solution get your solid product!
Note: You did not mentioned about solvent boiling point, if it is lower than room temperature then go for gravity, because vacuum removes some of the solvent, resulting lower yield.
Whereas gravity filtration is actually not a filtration, by naming itself we use centrifugal machine and separate solid from liquid by using centripetal forces, still both are in contact with each other in special centrifugal test tubes. This kind of process is used in inorganic lab where we work with precipitates.
Hope this helped you!

An experiment performed using solid to liquid extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, heating, and recrystallization to isolate caffeine, was not totally successful due to their being very little to no product of caffeine left when the time came to recrystallize the pure caffeine. During the experiment what could of caused there to be not enough caffeine to recrystallize it? ethyl acetate was used as the organic solvent hexane and acetone was used to recrystallize the crude caffeine, through mixture and boiling.
