The earth's core
is much smaller than the planet Mars.
is composed of a solid inner core surrounded by a liquid outer
core.
is easily penetrated by the S waves generated by the largest
earthquakes.
is composed of mostly heavy hydrogen, mimicking the core of the
sun.
1. Radius of the earth's inner core is about 1220 km and that of the Mars is about 3390 km. Thus earth's inner core is smaller than the planet Mars.
2. In the earth's inner core metals (mostly Iron ) are in solid form, and in the outer core metal Fe (Iron) and other metals are present in molten form.
3. As S-waves cannot pass through liquids so these waves get absorbed when passing from Mantle to core.
4. Earth's inner core consists of heavy elements e.g. Fe and therefore it is different from that of the Sun where Hydrogen is present. Thus earth's inner core does not mimics Sun's core.
