A strategic map is a visual representation that outlines an organization's strategic objectives, their interconnections, and the cause-and-effect relationships that lead to desired outcomes. In the case of Amazon's e-commerce business, the strategic map would focus on key success factors and the actions required to achieve its goals.

Below is a step-by-step outline of the strategic map for Amazon's e-commerce business:

  1. Vision and Mission: Start with Amazon's vision and mission statements. Amazon's vision is to be the "Earth's most customer-centric company," while its mission is to "continually raise the bar of the customer experience by using the internet and technology to help consumers find, discover, and buy anything."

  2. Strategic Objectives: Identify the key strategic objectives that align with Amazon's vision and mission. These could include market leadership, customer satisfaction, innovation, operational excellence, and global expansion.

  3. Customer Segments: Amazon serves a diverse range of customer segments, including consumers, businesses, and developers. Each segment has specific needs and preferences, and Amazon aims to cater to these requirements through personalized services and offerings.

  4. Core Offerings: Amazon's core offerings include an extensive product selection, competitive pricing, fast and reliable delivery, and a seamless shopping experience through its website and mobile apps.

  5. Customer Experience: A key driver of Amazon's success is its focus on providing an exceptional customer experience. This includes easy navigation, personalized product recommendations, customer reviews, and a convenient checkout process.

  6. Innovation and Technology: Amazon heavily invests in technology and innovation to improve its logistics, supply chain management, AI-driven recommendations, cloud computing services (AWS), and emerging technologies such as drone delivery.

  7. Logistics and Fulfillment: Amazon's strategic map should highlight the importance of efficient logistics and fulfillment centers that enable fast and reliable deliveries worldwide.

  8. Marketplace and Third-party Sellers: Amazon's strategic map should also emphasize the significance of its marketplace model, allowing third-party sellers to reach a vast customer base.

  9. Global Expansion: Amazon's strategic objective includes continued global expansion, entering new markets, and adapting to the cultural and regulatory requirements of different countries.

  10. Brand and Reputation: Amazon's strategic map should address the significance of maintaining a strong brand image and reputation for reliability, trustworthiness, and customer satisfaction.

  11. Data and Analytics: Amazon leverages data and analytics to understand customer behavior, preferences, and trends, enabling better decision-making and personalized experiences.

  12. Competitive Advantage: Amazon's strategic map should identify its competitive advantages, such as its Prime membership program, customer reviews, vast product selection, and robust fulfillment network.

  13. Financial Performance: Lastly, the strategic map should recognize the link between Amazon's strategic objectives and its financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, and shareholder value.

Please note that this strategic map is a simplified representation of Amazon's e-commerce business and may not capture all aspects of the company's strategies. It's important to conduct further research and refer to reliable sources such as Amazon's official website, annual reports, and industry analyses to develop a comprehensive and accurate strategic map.

As a supplementary note, I would like to clarify that the creation of a strategic map for a real-world company like Amazon would require in-depth research, data analysis, and the involvement of industry experts and stakeholders. My response provides a conceptual outline based on publicly available information, but a comprehensive strategic map would require more detailed data and expertise.
