Randall,
I'm so upset that you and the other members of the employee recognition committee dictated, yet again, that all employees get Christmas hams instead of Christmas bonuses. Why didn’t you bother to ask us what we wanted?? I could have told you that my son wants a new bike for Christmas, so let me just see if I can return that ham at Wal-Mart for a bike! What?? That won’t work? Well, thanks again for nothing, committee.

Mona

Note: Remember emotional content has no place in an email. Also, don’t forget concerns are stronger when accompanied by clear, specific solution.

Dear Randall,

Greetings on festive seasons..! (Starting with a positive note on festive season)

This time committee has recommended Christmas Hams over Christmas bonuses. To this, I would like to express my dissatisfaction over the choice of the committee. (Set the context or background for the mail)

Committee before finalizing the things, should have listen to what Employee needs rather superimposing their choice on the populations, this time and in future as well.

I did commit something to someone in this festive season and so do others. (Message body: what you want to communicate and consequence at different level)

I would strongly recommend to the committee, if provision can be made in agreement with 'M/s Wal-mart' to get us the things of our choice of equivalent value. (Note down possible solutions over here)

Expecting a favourable resolution on this.(express your trust on the person)

Thanks and regards

Mona
