Focussing on the treatment plans of ADHD, what interventions would you recommend to these parents, based on the available empirical evidence? What interventions would you not recommend? Why? How would you suggest that these parents work with their child’s school.

ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a kind of childhood disorder in which the children exhibits hyperactive and excited behaviours as well as instances of being inattention to instructions at various times. There are various intervention techniques for this disorder but among them the one which I want to recommend is letting the child free in a large field under supervision. Let the child carry out some physical exercises, make him play some sports which will need the expenditure of energy. These children have high energy and needs a proper outlet. Thus, making them play in field under supervision helps to channelize their energy in a productive way.
I will not recommend keeping them locked inside home or preventing them from play. This will detoriorate their conditions and they will start to channelize their excessive energy into something unproductive.
The parents of ADHD children must talk to the school teachers and inform them about this condition of their child. The teachers must try give extra attention to this children. When they are getting inattentive, teachers must poke them again and again and make them realise that they need to finish their tasks. They can also be reinforced for not being hyperactive in a class which will make thek learn this positive behaviour. Parents should work with the school authority and get information about the school functioning of their child and these two institutions (family and school) together should try to care for the child and help him in channelizing his energy in productive ways and teach him the productive ways by reinforcement.
