d. pet = dog; cout << pet.breed;

Explanation:

The class Pet is the superclass and the class Dog is the subclass. This means that Dog inherits the properties of Pet class but the vice-versa is not true, i.e., the pet class cannot inherit the properties of Dog class. Hence, Pet class cannot access the property 'breed'.
