Copper is a good conductor and has been incorporated into some cookware because it distributes heat quickly and evenly. If 909 calories of heat are needed to raise the temperature of a copper casserole pan from room temperature, 23.0 ºC to 176.67ºC (350ºF), what is the mass of the pan assuming it is made of pure copper. The specific heat for copper is 0.0900cal/g.ºC.

Answer #1

we have, Q = c (Cu) × m × ∆T

we have, ∆T = 153.67 C

            m = ?    ;   c, specific heat for copper is 0.0900cal/g.ºC

        Q = 909 cal.

909 cal = 0.0900 Cal/g-C * m *153.67 C

mass of the pan assuming it is made of pure copper , m = 65.73 g

Error might be in answer or question, as per given data / information , that answer is correct.
