Answer #1

a.

x are jelly beans

| are partitions

distribution of flavours are :

blueberry | popcorn | pineapple | apple | lemon

outcome : × × ×| × | | × ×|

this repersents no. of jelly beans are blueberry=3 , popcorn = 1, pineapple = 0, apple = 2, lemon = 0

b.

there are 5 choices for each jelly beans

we have to select 6 jelly beans with each having 5 choices

therefore,

no. of ways = 5*5*5*5*5*5

= 5^6

no. of ways = 15625
