Describe in no more than 250 words:
Follow your description with a reasoned conclusion as to whether you think law enforcement should have access to a backdoor into encryption systems or not.
1. Why law enforcement is concerned about encryption?
The main objective is to ensure the confidential information is
stored and transmitted safely against unauthorized access,
unauthorized usage, data corruption, data theft, data misuse. An
algorithm should be robust enough to protect it against various
security vulnerabilities. In order to ensure devices are updated to
reduce security threats.
2. Why a backdoor into encryption systems could help law
enforcement?
We know that when information transmitted securely in the medium,
it becomes not able to trace any activities against the country.
For instance, terrorism. A backdoor which is a secret agent within
the system helps a government to keep track of things and prevent
activities which are against laws and rules or policies of the
government.
3. Why do some people argue that backdoors are a bad idea?
Backdoors are difficult to trace or sometimes untraceable. People
wanted 100% privacy in this modern world. They argue backdoors are
a bad idea since it is killing their privacy and it becomes
hidden.
I would like to conclude by stating the need for a backdoor is much required when considered from the Government's point of view. It is the need of hour so that abnormal activities can be prevented.
