It is a type of test given to the infants to check if they have developed the depth perception or not.

If they refused or are hesitant to cross the path as per created by the experiment,they have developed the depth perception.

The basics include a glass table and cloth draped to create depth cues,the idea is to create illusions so that the child could be tested as well as no harm is caused during the experiment.

It was to know if it is learnt or innate.the apparatus allowed them to conduct the experiment in which the optical and tactile stimulus were used for simulation whilst protection of the subject was also given the required attention.

It demonstrates how infants perceive depth and how do they develop this knowledge.
