Answer #1

Answer 1:- Information-based visibility is key to maintaining cross-chain knowledge, assessing situations, and taking appropriate corrective actions on vehicles as they perform certain function like intermodal transfers, border crossings, re-routing, and final delivery

Answer 2:- Information quality is a critical characteristic of the knowledge flowing across the supply chain. The information must be available to supply chain managers who have a legitimate need for it, regardless of their location or employer. Supply chain managers must know what information is needed, and be able to quickly acquire only that which is applicable to their current situation. The information must be correct and depict reality; otherwise, it will be difficult to make appropriate decisions. Information inaccuracies can lead to inventory shortages, transportation delays, governmental penalties, and dissatisfied customers. The information must also be up to date, available in a reasonable timeframe, and transferable from one format to another to make it understandable and useful

Answer 3:- The core set of business TMS provides is routing and rating, executing the shipment across multiple modes, tracking and tracing loads, and freight settlement. TMS helps an organization reduce errors and delays, improve accountability and visibility, and limit a deviation from standard operation procedures

Answer 4:- Acting as the logistics management “hub,” TMS handles route planning and optimization; freight audit and payment; order visibility; carrier management; and other critical functionalities that help shippers digitally manage and optimize their transportation networks. Historically offered as an on-premise software application, TMShas since largely moved into the Cloud and, as such, provides real-time, always-on collaboration across shippers, carriers, trading partners and customers. This reduces cost by efficiently providing accurate data that could otherwise be costly by human error

Answer 5:- The TMS should enable managers to seamlessly interface with order management and WMSapplications to quickly identify transportation needs based on order size, origin, destination, and service requirements
