1. Michael Woods defines obsessions as unwanted thoughts, images or impulses that are extremely repetitive and distressing

Compulsion - These are the actions be it mental or physical that ease the obsession.

2. The earliest symptoms of OCD for Michael during childhood were when his friends were playing in the dirt having food over their hands and faces but Michael preferred being in his sandbox and wanted nowhere near them

3. As his illness progressed further he was repeatedly washing his hands for a longer amount of time and eventually started using Lysol. He also had trouble doing laundry owing to repeated washing and following a set path for doing chore failing which he had to do it all over again.

4. To cope up Michael began indulging in alcohol and smoking pot every day.

5. If you are facing trouble in your interpersonal relationship or having a hard time at work you should go see a therapist.

6 The goals of CBT are to reduce anxiety and depression.

7. There are two main tools used in CBT. First by trying to identify any rational thoughts or cognitions and trying to modify them so that the person doesn't have any negative thoughts therefor not as many negative emotion.

8. Michael feared to ride over a human or an animal when he hit a bump across the road.. But when he came back and looked it was a bump but the fear would return once he hit the bump again. So he would run in circles for almost half an hour.

Imaginal ExposureThemethodnd ethod is exposure therapy or experiments where they let people imagine their fear and talk about thoughts and feeling about it.This was imaginal exposure.

Vivo exposure- The second is vivo exposure where people were taken through the situation which they feared out of the office. The idea was that if people could stay in this situation long enough you got used to it and it was to take place in a gradual process.

10.CBT after a year and a half made a drastic change in Michael's life. The hit and run fears and hand washing aren't part of his life anymore. he described his life to be trapped in mind before CBT, but after the treatment, he looks for new opportunities and looks forward to each day. He finally shares his desire to get others also the help he got through CBT
