There are two warehouses (W1, W2) and three retail locations (A, B, C).

W1 is capable of supplying 120 units of product per period
W2 is capable of supplying 352 units of product per period
A requires 55 units of product per period
B requires 190 units of product per period
C requires 227 units of product per period

Costs for routing one unit of material between the locations are as follows:
W1-A: 17
W1-B: 6
W1-C: 25
W2-A: 16
W2-B: 40
W2-C: 18

Apply the Transportation model to this situation and enter the quantity (in whole units) that would be routed
W2 to B

Answer #1
Demand 70 Remaining
55 190 227
Supply A (Cost) Units B(Cost) Units C(Cost) Units
120 W1 17 6 120 25
352 W2 16 55 40 70 18

227

Number of units that would be routed from W2 to B is 40 units,

B can be supplied by both W1 and W2.

The cost of W1 to B is 6 and W2 to B is 40.

The demand for B is 190.

So, W1 is considered to resolve the demand for B.

And the supply capacity of W1 is just 120 which is lesser than the demand.

= 120 units are transported from W1 to B.

190 - 120 = 70.

70 units can be transported form W2 to B
