For making the negotiation in Mexico successful in order to win a lucrative joint venture I will have to take into consideration various critical and important factors and strategies so that this international deal turns out to be in my favour.

Since this is an international negotiation deal, there are some key considerations such as work ethic, culture, style, approach, orientation etc before planning to start the deal with the Mexicans.

The decisions that I would have to make would mostly be regarding the extend to which i will try to adapt and accommodate to their values, beliefs and perspectives to create a sense of belongingness and familiarity among them while at the same time retaining my own values and ethics also while agreeing to any term.

The way decisions will be taken in Mexico will vary from that of mine culture because their decision making will be influenced by their cultural norms and values,,, so my focus will be on understanding how their decisions are guided by their beliefs and norms so that mutual agreement is reached through molding my requests and demands in a way which does not interfere and disrespect their norms and values and at the same time presenting these terms of negotiation in a way that they find it coinciding with their values.

I will have to be prepared in advance for carrying out all the five stages of negotiation smoothly through adjusting these stages to the Mexicans interests so that they also see it as a beneficial deal for them and become impressed with my eloquence and convincing skills so that I am able to build a relationship of trust and status among them. These stages such as preparation, relationship building, sharing of task related information, persuasion and concession will guide and help me in shaping a particular negotiation strategy through supporting facts with evidences at each stage to gain their confidence.

The negotiation style also outs a great impact on the perception on the other party. Therefore staying wary about their negotiation styles and behavior will help me to see myself as more one among them which will enable me to go through their confused minds and to see what is planning in their head so that my next move is prepared accordingly to attack their doubts and confusions. .

The people in Mexico are found to be extremely polite, humble but at the same time reflecting a tough and string personality. They do not act impulsive and are mostly very patient, composes and calm while making decisions so it is important to be moderately enthusiastic and deliberate infront of them. Their high context culture tells them to maintain dignity so just because something is lucrative for them will not be alluring enough to get an immediate Yes from them , so I will have to work hard on convincing that their status and dignity will be respected in US.
