In last decade or so technology has changed the way organization conduct their business. Advent of technology in operation management has increased productivity of the organization. Over a period of time the scope of technology and operational management has evolved from product development to design, management and operating system and process improvement. The use of technology in operational management ensures that organisations ' costs can be reduced, delivery processes improved, quality standardized and improved, and customized to create value for their customers. Automation eliminates manual production interference. It increases productivity and reduces error margins, thereby making economies of scale easier. Automation benefits include unemployment, high downtime costs and initial investment in capital. Automation may therefore not be sufficient in all cases and it is ultimately important to comply with an overarching corporate goal. Innovation may promote improvement in processes and management of output. Nonetheless, development can not be employed with high initial costs of construction, high maintenance costs, and poor management in every field, which is difficult.

Different software systems with other business functions are available for integrated operation and manufacturing functions. Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP), Supply-Chain Managements (SCM, NPD) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) are some of the common software frameworks. Corporate Resources Planning (ERP) integrates to a common software framework all activities, including development, marketing, human resources and finance. ERP software primarily profits from reducing non-database mistakes but also delivering consumer satisfaction by speeding up shipping and order fulfillment. Automation reduces manual manufacturing intervention. It increases productivity and decreases the mistake gap, thereby allowing size savings. Such technology drawbacks entail jobs, elevated turnaround costs and initial investment in resources. There are also advantages. Automation may therefore not be appropriate in all cases and it is ultimately important to comply with the overall objective of the enterprise.

Technoloiges can improve business operation in the following ways:

Improve your efficiency — Technology enables enterprises to automate production processes. They should evaluate the hours the workers invest and procedures to improve the efficiency of your program. Task management apps allow you to keep up with everyday tasks so that you don't lose out on anything.

Improve flexibility — In the past 20 years, communication with your colleagues has changed, with numerous technological developments making it possible to work elsewhere. You can now connect with your colleagues from anywhere at any given time and improve the flexibility of your company to handle queries quickly and efficiently. It increases coordination throughout the organization.

Better customer support — Without clients, a company can't survive, so you can pay big returns with the use of technology to improve the offer. You will separate from the rivalry and help to increase the income by interactive website, online chat assistance and 24/7 social media services.

Improve your commercialization — companies that market properly receive long-term benefits. Software has developed software which helps companies to develop a marketing plan, which can be revised and shared with your staff. Technology allows you, though social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to create eye-catching websites.

Technology maintains business security — Manual record keeping has caused numerous businesses problems by maintaining and saving records. Modern technology helps businesses to retain reliable storage and to enforce processes that only the right people can access internally. Encrypted passwords offer greater security to criminals, render access to data complicated and avoid disclosure of private data. Each part of the workforce has improved technologically and companies can continue to benefit from introducing new innovations.
