A mass-burn waste to energy facility can convert those wastes to electricity with a heat rate of 17,000 kJ of thermal input per kWh of electrical output (roughly 20% efficiency). Dear student, we shall solve this problem by simple mathematics where we know that 1KWH power us produced from 17000 KJ Thermal input. We have total MSW produced per year and it's LHV. Multiplying both gives us annual thermal input in KJ/YEAR. Using this value and data provided in question regarding thermal input and power we shall find answer.
