question of java , very simple one written under with comment, just reply next or below it, thanks

public static void main(String[] args) {
       // TODO Auto-generated method stub
       int i, j;
       final int ARRAY_LENGTH = 5;
       int[] myArray = new int[ARRAY_LENGTH];

       for(i=0; i< myArray.length; i++)
       {
           myArray[0] += 2;
       }

       for(j = 0; j        {
           System.out.printf("%5d%5d%n", j, myArray[j]); // if second loop isn't part of the first loop, how did myArray[J] here will still print the value from loop above? (First loop uses variable i, not J)

// im thinking even though they are not nested loops and seperated, myArray itself is same variable and since Java read things in sequential, myArray from the first loop carries over to the next statement, in this case, the second loop myArray[J] ?

       }

   }

}

output

0 10
1 0
2 0
3 0
4 0

Answer #1

here
myArray is declared with length 5
//means myArray can accomdate 5 int values, at indexes 0,1,2,3,4
now, in first for loop
it runs 5 times,using variable i,
and in the loop, statement:myArray[0] += 2; , which adds 2 at the value of index:0, 5 times
//so here variable i is used to run for loop 5 times
so after the execution of first for loop
the value at index:0 in myArray will be 10, because 2 is added to it five times
//remaining all values are 0, since they are not assigned, by default they are set to 0
now
in second for loop,
variable j is used, and it will also runs for 5 times like: possible j values are 0,1,2,3,4
now, in second for loop :the statement is
System.out.printf("%5d%5d%n", j, myArray[j]);
which means in iteration of loop, it prints the j, and the value at index j in myArray
we already know possible j values
j=0, myArray[0]=10
j=1,myArray[1]=0
j=2,myArray[2]=0
j=3,myArray[3]=0
j=4,myArray[4]=0
that's why
output

0 10
1 0
2 0
3 0
4 0

is printed

    HOW TO FiX EXCEPTIONS??? In order to populate the array, you will need to split() each String on the (,) character so you can access each individual value of data. Based on the first value (e.g., #) your method will know whether to create a new Manager, HourlyWorker, or CommissionWorker object. Once created, populate the object with the remaining values then store it in the array. Finally, iterate through the array of employees using the enhanced for loop syntax, and...

    Hello everyone. I have a bankers algorithm written in java that gets inputs from a .txt file. The file has 7 processes and 5 resources however, when the program runs, it doesn't sum the resource columns correctly. The program runs correctly for smaller matricies (4 processes, 3 resources), not sure what the issue is and have been looking over the code for awhile so maybe another set of eyes would help...thanks BankersAlgorithm.java /** * This program implements Bankers algorithm which...
