While the use of big data will matter across sectors, some sectors are set for greater gains. In your opinion, will the use of big data matter in higher education? Why or why not? Please provide examples

BIG DATA has its uses and implications, even in an academic setting. The use of data, especially with large sample size, it can easily be used to measure any discrepancies in the study system being utilized. In test situations, it can be used to used not in a broader context where the data can decide which area of study is the entire classroom cumulatively weak at, thereby, giving the instructor the necessary understanding of what works and how they can improve the knowledge for their students. The cost of implementing such a system would be well justified given that better education would be provided, and each area of difficulty would be identified to provide a well-rounded outlook for the system to make sense. Education is the cornerstone of growth, and especially at lower levels, where the foundations are built, the use of BIG DATA can provide educators the ability to cater their study material to meet the needs of the classroom being taught more accurately. Since there is a large variability between the degree of knowledge, capability, and understanding for the students, it would enable the instructors better command over their own decisions to teach in a way which benefits the students in an overall context.

It can also be used on a per-student basis where the tests cumulatively depict the areas they need to work more at and together with their instructor; they can create a roadmap as to best be able to achieve it.

To summarize, BIG DATA can be used to grade exam papers in a way which provides a clear understanding of areas of weakness on a per-student basis, in higher education, the best possible outcome can, therefore, be achieved as a result through understanding data analytically.
