NaCl is an IONIC salt . Since it is made from the electropositive metal sodium and electronegative non metal chlorine so an Ionic salt ( NaCl ) is formed .

  • INTERMOLECULAR FORCES Involved are ELECTROSTATIC FORCES   which is also called as IONIC FORCES .
  • As soon as NaCl is dissolved in water positive ions of sodium and negative ions of chloride seprates and water molecules start interacting with positive and negative ions through ION-DIPOLE INTERACTIONS
  • ​​​SO ​​​​​​ ION - DIPOLE INTERACTIONS ARE RESPOSIBLE FOR DISSOLUTION .
